Join Terrance Kelly, Nona Brown, Mickala Cheadle, Marcus McCauley, Javier Navarrette, Jae Phoenix, and other expert instructors to expand your education in the areas of voice, stage presence, ear training, gospel technique, movement, and more. Dinner will be provided for workshop participants courtesy of members of the Oakland Interfaith community. Plus, perform with the mass choir at the Annual Free Spring Concert (7:00 PM) and inspire the audience by making a joyful noise!

Why a Gospel Workshop?

​The OIGC gospel workshop was designed for the eclectic mix of people who love gospel music and want to learn more about the art form. Without a place that specifically taught gospel, OIGC originally created the workshop for choir members who needed/wanted more instruction, but it is now open to other choirs and the general public.

The free spring concert is our way of giving back to the community and celebrating fellowship with our neighbors. Workshop attendees get to partake in this special event as part of the mass choir performing that evening.
